Fabrics are a very good example of how the economy changes move the production of goods from one part of the world to another. Although a big part of the fabrics manufacturing has been transferred to developing countries because of cheaper labour costs, some of the most advanced factories still keep up with the new world economy dynamics. These products are often made of cotton yarns imported from countries such as China and Pakistan. High quality fabrics and towels can be used as home fashion accessories and that is why, I believe, there is still a conspicuous production in the western world and in Japan where towels are often used as a gift and their manufacturing requires high quality standards. A tip I can give is about a way to freshen towels and fabrics: adding lavender rinse to the wash cycle. Lavender has been used for centuries for cleaning purposes because of its scent and antiseptic properties.
