The first obstacle is the learning curve for whatever path you take, and theres are lots of paths that might lead to money on the internet. I'll be pointing out some paths that I think might be worth trying as I learn myself. The next two obstacles are the two things that stop 99% of the people in their tracks when considering an online business. These are the two things that most folks, myself included, always seem to be short on regardless of the circumstance. Time - There are only 24 hours in a day to do what you need to do for that day and unfortunately you have to also schedule in some sleep or you will eventually crash. (This is where I am at the moment.) Most of us have a regular job to go to in order to pay the bills, we have families to care for and significant others who need some quality time with us as well. So where does that leave us if we're trying to create an online presence while living our daily lives? For most of us, that place is in a time crunch. Something has to give, schedules must change to accommodate our new venture. For me, this currently means much shorter nights. How long can I continue on 5 or 6 hours of sleep a night? You'll just have to hide and watch. Right now the determination level is high and is only exceeded by the frustration level at my current job. Wanting to retire while I'm still young enough to enjoy myself ranks right up there as well. Money - The old saying is, 'You have to have money to make money.' Unfortunately this is true to a certain extent. There always seems to be software and/or books to buy, computers to upgrade, hosting to pay for and domain names to register when you want to make money online from home. Put into the perspective of opening up a physical place of business, these expenses seem like chump change, but to someone who is working with a very limited budget, these expenses can be quite a strain.
Making money online from home has to be something you want so badly that you're willing to take all the necessary steps and follow through to the end. Right now I'm doing the learning thing and the capital investment (buying stuff) thing and the no sleep thing so I can have time to plot my strategy and entry into the online world.
